Paige & Marcus’s beautiful fall wedding… Dec 18th | Personal

I love getting e-mails from Paige… every one of them has made me laugh. And you could tell throughout the wedding day that her and her friends love to laugh and have fun together. Jen photographed Marcus while he waited for Paige to come and see him before the wedding. She said that he kept looking around for her, and couldn’t wait for her to walk out! They were so sweet and happy together, which always makes it easy for a photographer. Everything was so beautiful, it was defenitely a fairytale wedding. I loved all the fall colors… from Paige’s flowers, to her beautiful auburn hair, to her bridesmaids chocolate dresses, and of course the gardens at Cheekwood. Here are just a few of my favorites….

The Dress…

I could have filled up the entire blog with pictures of this precious flower girl

Paige’s dad taking a picture of me taking a picture of him… I love this one!

And they both are still beautiful!

I?m up and running? okay, I’m not actually running… Dec 15th | Personal

It never seems to fail that I get sick right around Christmas, when the last thing I want or need to do is lay on the couch all day. So of course, this week, I got one horrible sinus infection that kept me sick and asleep all day. Peter has worked so hard taking care of me and everything else going on right now- I am so thankful for him! Today I woke up full of energy and ready to work and do something besides sleep. Right now I am finishing up Paige’s beautiful wedding and I want to post a few of her bridal that we did back in the fall. We always wait until after the wedding to show bridals off so they don’t spoil the surprise. Paige is gorgeous in every photograph; I spent way too long trying to pick out my favorites!

The Guthrie Family Dec 07th | Personal

Peter and I had such a great time getting to know the Guthries this weekend. They have three children and another one on the way! We did a family photo with them, and I took some time to grab some shots of the kids just hanging out and playing. You can tell they have a lot of fun! Julie fixed dinner for us… enchiladas… and Peter hasn’t stopped talking about them. Thanks for a fun evening!

A Georgia Fall Experience Dec 05th | Personal

This was a really fun shoot! The city of Lawrenceville had just started decorating of Christmas and the fall colors were just right. It was beautiful! The lighting was perfect. I prayed God would hold off the rain just long enough. Sure enough, once we got in our cars to leave, the heavens opened!

Nina and Johnny were a blast to work with. When we all first met, you would have thought Johnny was camera shy within the first few frames. That was short lived for he proved himself a natural like his fiancĂ© Nina. He’s working on keeping his eyes closed, I hope! ;)

Congratulations Dianne and Barry! Dec 01st | Personal

I love working weddings at The Factory- it gives way for so much texture and color. Dianne is a graphic designer (she is working on new promotional materials for us!) and everything suited her perfectly. Dianne’s mom took care of all the decorations and flower arrangements, and I have never seen the church at the factory look better. The day was calm and relaxing and I enjoyed getting to hang out with Dianne and Barry
again. They both just glowed when they saw each other for the first time! Here are some of my favorites from the wedding:

The guys were playing a game of poker before the ceremony… the best part was they were using legos as poker chips!

The backdrop for the ceremony was several doors painted white and hinged together. Everything put together made the ceremony look magical!

Thanksgiving Nov 29th | Personal

While I miss my family, I am very happy to be back here in Nashville! We have been so busy since we got back, but I love it! I enjoy my work so much, it doesn’t bother me that we are working till 10 every night. That and the fact that Christmas is coming soon helps as well! We had a lot of fun in Georgia for Thanksgiving, eating WAY TOO MUCH, riding 4-wheelers, playing on the swing, a game of golf, spending the night with Me-maw and Papa Bo, playing with our cousin’s super cute puppies, and my favorite, decorating the family Christmas tree. I have a few more photographs to share, but for now you can enjoy this one of my sister Ansley on the swing…

Going out of town Nov 22nd | Personal

Tonight I am packing up and getting ready to leave for Georgia tomorrow to be with my family for Thanksgiving. Yea!! Peter and I have made the drive between Nashville and Atlanta more than I know, and I am so grateful that it is a beautiful drive. We were in Atlanta last week to see Jeremy Enigk and Cursive play at the Variety Playhouse (it was awesome!), but our trip home took close to 6 hours instead of the 3 1/2 that it usually takes us from my parents house. Traffic in Chattanooga was terrible from the rain and thunderstorms and we didn’t move for an hour. I was so frustrated, but once we made it through, the skies opened up and we saw this amazing rainbow peeking through the clouds….

I only got to get a quick snapshot while we were moving with my point and shoot, but I love how the bright colors just pop out from behind the weary trees. It reminded me that no matter what there is always something to be thankful for, it just might be hidden sometimes.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Whitney

Brittany & Mike Nov 13th | Personal

When I received an e-mail from Brittany Hailes about photographing her wedding in Franklin, I remembered that I went to UGA with a Brittany Hailes. Sure enough, after giving her a call, I realized that it was the same Brittany. Brittany knew me before I was married, I was Whitney Orr to her, so she had no idea that she had e-mailed me! We are now going to photograph her wedding at the Factory. Brittany is very creative, so I can’t wait to see what she has planned!

It was great seeing Brittany and Mike together for their engagement session- he is just as fun as she is! Brittany hurt her middle finger just before the shoot and had a huge bandage on it, so we got some really fun shots that I can’t post on here :) Besides those, here are a few of my favorites…

All the way from Georgia! Nov 09th | Personal

Peter and I had such a good time hanging out with Sandi and Scott for their engagement session. Their wedding is in Atlanta next October, but they decided to drive up from Georgia for the weekend to see the sites of Nashville for Scott’s birthday. It was a perfect time for us to do the engagement session. I heard later from Sandi that they sat next to Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin and Alison Krauss during dinner at Capital Grille- they couldn’t have planned that!

I was a little worried because it had been raining all day, and I thought we would have to post pone the session. However, just as we started to shoot, the sun peeked out from behind the clouds and made all of the wet plants glisten! The fall colors shined, and loved seeing Scott and Sandi just enjoy the day.

Sheri & Chris’s Wedding Day Nov 02nd | Personal

We all had a wonderful time photographing Chris and Sheri’s wedding. They are both so laidback and easygoing, and everyone stayed relaxed throughout the whole day. Sheri looked so wonderfully vintage, from her dress, to her hair, to her earrings. She also had some of the most beautiful flowers I have seen! The ceremony was at the Hancock House Bed and Breakfast which looked lovely with paper lanterns hanging everywhere. My favorite photographs are these two at the beginning, when Sheri and Chris saw each other for the first time. You can see how excited Chris was to see her!
