It was so great to be able to photograph Karissa’s bridal session at Cheekwood this summer. I LOVE Cheekwood, it is one of the first places I ever visited in Nashville and is just so beautiful. Karissa has such an elegant look about her and Cheekwood fit her well.

Well, if you are wondering how it came about that we had access to a periodic table, lab coats, and blue smoking stuff, you are about to find out! Sarah & Jonathan had their engagement session last week, and the very first time we met with them we knew a trip to the lab was in store. They met at Vanderbilt where they both worked in labs and we thought about how much fun it would be to do part of their session in the lab. And boy was it fun! Peter and I bought dry ice from Continental Carbonic (it’s actually really cheap!) and we spent most of our time just keeping the smoke going. I think we’re going to have to buy more for the next party we have. Here is one of my favorites.

Unfortunately, I arrived back in Nashville with Peter’s sinus infection, but I am recovering quickly. Peter and I were in Los Angeles, CA for a photography conference and we had a great time! It was my first time in LA and I never really left the airport area. We are going to have to go back! We learned a lot, met a lot of great people, and got to see some friends that we met at the last conference we went to. We hit the ground running when we got back with Emily and Jeremy’s wedding. Since we didn’t take many images in California, I’ll leave you today with one of my favorite’s from Emily and Jeremy’s engagement session.

So, I just got my iPhone and it totally rules. Whitney and I are in the Nashville airport and I made this blog on my phone. How cool is that?! I’m not sure how to upload photos yet. If you know how, let me know.

Ashley with Ashley’s Bride Guide has become a fixture for Nashville Wedding resources in just a short amount of time. She has built a wonderful website, and has a great blog that I always read.
