So back in June I blogged about Jaime & Nathan’s beautiful contemporary album that we had just received. Well, this week we received another beautiful album, and I couldn’t resist sharing it with you.

Karissa and Eliab were married in 2008 at the always beautiful Cheekwood. When it came time to pick out their album they opted to go with the timeless matted album. We have noticed over the last year a renewed interest in matted albums. Well let me tell you, there were ooo’s and ahh’s once again in the office as we all gathered around to check it out. Everyone commented how they loved the thickness of the 10×10 album.

Below are some images of Karissa and Eliab’s wedding, as well as my own wedding album from our 2007 wedding at Cedarwood Mansion. I wanted to include both albums in this blog to show the variety of sizes and designs for the matted albums. These are definitely not like your parent’s wedding album. J

Recently all the blogs that I’ve been reading have shown some really unique ways couples are personalizing their guestbook at their wedding. I think very few people are sticking to the traditional “sign your name on a line” guestbook and using this wedding tradition as another way to add their personal flair to the details of the day.

One of my favorite stories was how the bride and her sister painted a tree on a large canvas. The couple had all of their guests sign the leaves of the tree and then the bride and groom signed the “carved” heart on the trunk during their ceremony as their version of the unity candle. Now they have a really cool piece of art hanging on their wall with a ton of meaning.

So I got to thinking about Dove and the guestbooks that we offer our brides that can be a fun alternative to the traditional books.

If you do an engagement session with Dove, one of the fun things you can do with your pictures is use them in your guestbook. We have two types of books- a graphic designed guestbook and a matted design. It’s a fun way for your guests to leave you sweet notes while also getting to see a sample of your engagement photos. Both these designs are great examples of something different that you can do with your engagement photos and guestbook.

No matter what you decide to do for your guestbook, whether a photo booth, graphic or matted guestbook, signing a large picture, guitar, or painting, etc…, make it your own and something that you are going to treasure for years to come.

When designing your wedding album, one of the first decisions we have you make is what style of album you want. Do you want to go with the more timeless, traditional matted album or do you want to go with the contemporary graphically designed album? Both are great choices, so you can’t go wrong either way. It just depends on what look and feel you want for your wedding album. All of our albums are custom designed for each client, so no two albums are ever the same. We recently received Jaime and Nathan’s Contemporary Album from their wedding at Cedarwood and the office was buzzing the day it came. There were ooo’s and awe’s from everyone.
